A warm and elegantly looking material, ipe is one of the hardest outdoor woods. Its colour tones range from brown to olive and reddish green, with lighter and darker streaks. It lends itself to small/medium-sized environments subject to low to high frequency walking for use in private, commercial and maritime environments. Its characteristics also make it suitable for cladding buildings. As with all woods, the sun's rays cause the colour to become uniform over time and to take on a greyish colour. If this is not desired, the original colour can be restored by using specific oils once or twice a year.
