General description:
Okoumé is a pale-pink wood. Sometimes it is irregular, but it has mainly a straight grain. Sapwood and heartwood are clearly different. The sapwood is tight; with a greyish colour while the heartwood is salmon pink more or less dark.

Grain: straight, sometimes interlocked or wavy.

Drying: fast.
Planing: pay attention when it has a interlocked grain that it will change the result.
Gluing: easy.
Nailing and screwing: easy.
Finishing: easy.

Main uses: Furniture, windows, decorative veneers.
