General description:

The wood has a dark straw-yellow colour and it tends to oxidize easily assuming a greyish-brown uniformly tone.
Sapwood: yellowish-white
Heartwood: from yellow with a golden tone to a brownish colour.

Specific weight: dried 660 kg / m³

Mechanical properties:
Static bending strength: 1150 kg / cm²
Compressive strength: 540 kg / cm²

Histological Structure:
Grain: straight, but not always regular.
Texture: from medium to coarse.

Treatability: untreatable.

Processing:
Sawing: easy.
Drying: from medium to slow with a low risk of cracks or warps.
Planing: pay attention to the occasional interlocked grain.
Gluing: easy, avoid casein glues.
Nailing: pre-drilling recommended.
Finishing: it could be difficult.

Main uses: Exterior furniture, doors and windows, stairs, flooring and coating, naval woodwork, urban parks and gardens.
